Ya’ll… golden hour at Bassett Hall in Williamsburg makes for such a DREAMY engagement session! Mattie here, and I’m so excited to share photos of Carly and Michael’s engagement session in Colonial Williamsburg.
In the heart of historic Williamsburg, Virginia, Bassett Hall is a tucked away estate that was once home to the Rockefellers. It is nestled on over 500 acres (wow!) and was built in the mid-1700s. The Rockefellers lived in the home starting in 1936, and the family’s generosity helped to preserve much of the colonial capitol while they lived in Williamsburg.
The Southern charm and elegance of the property combined with how few tourists are walking around it (hopefully not more now that I’m posting!) make it a fantastic location for an engagement or family photo session.
As your Williamsburg wedding photographer, I understand just how important it is to have a location for your engagement session that’s comfortable, complements your love story, and adds a touch of timeless beauty to each image. Add in the timing of golden hour (starting your session about an hour before sunset is perfect) and you get these magical golden images from Carly and Michael’s session! <3
Michael admittedly wasn’t super excited about taking photos, so I tried my best to keep it interactive as much as possible – we talked about life, they walked, joked around, and I think we ended up with some AH-MAZING images! This is one of the many reasons I highly recommend doing an engagement session before your wedding day as it gives us a chance to get to know each other and for you to become much more comfortable in front of the camera.
Congratulations, Carly and Michael! We cannot wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day!
Are you ready to book your golden hour Bassett Hall engagement session in Colonial Williamsburg? I’d love to connect <3.
