I am SOOOOO excited for Lauren and Cameron – they just welcomed Baby Neil into their family (I know, Lauren looks amazing to be just a couple weeks postpartum, right?!). When Lauren reached out to schedule family photos, she wanted to choose a location that was in James City County since Cameron will be running for office in James City County this year. We talked about the different parks, historical areas, etc., and they decided to try family photos at Chickahominy Riverfront Park!

I am very familiar with the park as my family LOVES to bike on the Capital Bike trail. We often incentivize our kids by biking down to the park and letting the kids play on the playground before biking back. Win for us (we get to bike) and win for the kids!

The water views are very beautiful, but they are quite sunny unless you’re able to stay around until the sunset. With a new baby and a three year old, we opted for an earlier session and focused on taking photos in some of the grassy, wooded areas of the park. Who would have thought photos could be so gorgeous just on the side of the driveway that goes through to the campground?!

We took time to get headshots of Cameron for him to use in his upcoming campaign. And of course, we had to capture a few of newborn baby Neil during their family photos at Chickahominy! Look at those little toes!! 🙂
