I was so excited when Dana reached out requesting their Southern Virginia engagement session be on Benji’s family farm – how special to photograph them at a place where they love to spend time. Dana and Benji enjoy fishing on the pond and spending time outdoors. After their wedding, they will be moving onto the farm to live, and Benji will be joining in his family’s farming business.
My lack of farm knowledge shined through with my questions, but they were so sweet to share with me names of some of the plants and a few fun facts about farm equipment. I just loved their idea to put Dana’s ring on crops from Benji’s family field.
Thanks to their adventurous spirits and lack of worry about snakes (gotta love those who are used to being on a farm all the time!), they even headed into the middle of the field to catch some epic photographs. This photographer from the “city” (ie Williamsburg) thought it was so cool!
We were able to capture the glow of the sun coming down over the farm and the wheat growing towards the end. While I love all of the images in their gallery, some of my favorites ended up being in front of the grain bins (let me just admit that I’m not confident that’s even what they’re called – you know, the big metal tin can buildings). :-). I loved the ones of them walking in front of the pond too. So maybe I just love them all!
What a beautiful evening to celebrate Dana & Benji and their future together! Are you planning a Southern Virginia engagement and need a photographer? I would LOVE to connect! <3
