Are you planning to book spring family photos?! It’s one of my favorite times of year, and I’d love to create the images of your dreams. Williamsburg, VA is beautiful all year round – let’s be real! However, there is something so special about that spring green season, when the grass and leaves come back, the flowers are blooming, the air is crisp… as we all emerge from our winter hibernation, it’s a beautiful time of year to capture your family!

My friend Britt moved to Florida a few years ago, and she reached out when her family was planning a trip to Williamsburg to book spring family photos. Her parents live in town, and it worked out perfectly to use a spot in their backyard to start their photo session. It ended up being much colder than we expected, so it was great for the kids to be able to run inside to warm up.

After our mini session in the family’s backyard, we then headed down to a spot by the water in their neighborhood of Ford’s Colony. Almost every neighborhood in Williamsburg has beautiful common areas like parks, water or trails. Ford’s Colony is no exception with gazebos and water that make gorgeous backdrops for your spring family photos!

As you can see in the images, we always make sure the kids have FUN! We run, climb, and play to keep them active in their photo session and to create lots of genuine smiles and laughs. Britt did a great job choosing such fun colors for everyone so that they popped off the background. Can you even tell they were freezing?!
