As mentioned before, the Williamsburg Inn remains my personal favorite – as a William and Mary alum, I fell in love with Colonial Williamsburg years ago, and nothing compares to the romance of a horse and carriage ride to the elegant Williamsburg Inn. It has such historic charm, timeless elegance and sophistication. The cobblestone pathways, beautiful buildings, and fabulous gardens make every photo I take a true work of art. You truly can’t go wrong booking a wedding with Yuani and her team!

2. Two Rivers Country Club: A Riverside Haven for Romance

If you are dreaming of a waterside celebration, Two Rivers Country Club really does steal the show in the top Williamsburg wedding venues list. I just LOVE the gazebo down by the water at sunset- the backdrop of the James River is truly MAGICAL to see, and the romantic glow is beyond picturesque.

3. Ford’s Colony Country Club: Southern Charm at Its Finest

The Southern charm of Ford’s Colony Country Club provides a great venue for your wedding day as well. Ya’ll – it really is SO hard to make this list as all the venues are SO good. From colonial-style architecture to sprawling landscapes, Ford’s Colony offers a range of stunning options for your special moments – I love building in extra time at Ford’s Colony to take photos at great spots around the golf course and property as well.

4. Wren Chapel at William and Mary College: Historic Romance on Campus

I can’t write a blog post about Williamsburg wedding venues without including this one! However, if you’re not a William and Mary grad or family, skip on down as that’s required to book. The Wren Chapel at William and Mary is steeped in history and tradition- it’s a beautiful venue with amazing acoustics. The campus is SO beautiful for all your portraits before/after your ceremony, and the William and Mary Alumni House was recently renovated as a great option for your reception afterwards! Some couples head over to the Williamsburg Inn for their reception to combine the historic campus ceremony with Colonial Williamsburg charm.

5. Kingsmill Resort: Luxury and Versatility in Williamsburg

Kingsmill Resort, with its fantastic riverfront views and landscapes, is another top Williamsburg wedding venue for those seeking luxury and versatility. From grand ballrooms to tranquil outdoor spaces, it provides a canvas for stunning photography. I love photographing here and using the Marina at sunset as well as using a golf cart to find picturesque locations around the golf course for your portraits.

6. The Maine at Williamsburg: Cozy Elegance Hidden in Williamsburg

Introducing a new contender – The Maine at Williamsburg! Sometimes great things come in a surprising package. I never expected such a beautiful venue hidden behind the trees of John Tyler! This venue offers unique charm. Designed specifically for weddings, they did not skip a detail in designing the colors and architecture of the Maine. It’s another dream location for your wedding at one of the top Williamsburg wedding venues.

7. Colonial Heritage Club: Rustic Chic for a Perfectly Imperfect Love Story

For the lovers of rustic charm, Colonial Heritage Club is a great venue option as well. The warm wooden tones and intimate spaces create a wonderful atmosphere for a wedding. This is definitely worth a stop in your wedding venue tour of Williamsburg.

Bonus #8: Burlington – Right Outside Williamsburg Elegance

Just a short distance from Williamsburg, Burlington offers a picturesque escape. The scenic beauty and rustic charm make it an excellent option for those who want to step just outside of town for a touch of elegance in a more secluded setting. It’s definitely worth the drive to check it out as an option!
