Jaret and Olivia’s Wren Chapel and William & Mary Alumni House wedding was filled with joy despite the HOT weather! As William and Mary alumni, it was fitting for them to hold their ceremony at the historic Wren Chapel with a reception to follow at the William and Mary Alumni House. Olivia chose vibrant William and Mary green and gold hues for her special day.
The day began with excitement – as soon as I arrived at the bed and breakfast where the guys were getting ready, one of the guys pulled out some music and all the groomsmen began to dance in the living room. Mom of the groom joined, and the days’ festivities were kicked off with great joy. That fun would continue throughout the day.
Olivia and Jaret exchanged their vows in the historic Wren Chapel with their family and friends. We did a mini-exit of them coming out of the Chapel with friends and family cheering, followed by a trip upstairs in the Wren Building the ring the bell. If you’re not familiar with the tradition, William and Mary seniors ring the bell on their last day of classes to celebrate. It is the historic bell, complete with a rope to pull for ringing. After ringing the bell, we got a photograph of them on the balcony (where the queen of England has even had a photo before!). Wow!
While William and Mary has many picturesque locations around campus, the two most popular spots are the Wren Building and the Crim Dell Bridge. Olivia dreamed of taking photos at the Crim Dell, so we had to do it! Surrounded by trees with a reflection in the water, the bridge is an iconic William and Mary spot and absolutely gorgeous for photos. The couple chose to walk to the bridge, so we were able to incorporate portraits walking on campus and under a willow tree as well.
Olivia and Jaret’s reception took place in the beautifully renovated Alumni House on William and Mary’s campus. Some of my favorite images of the day were from their reception – their wedding party entrances were so fun, and the couple truly came in with such energy for their dance. Jaret surprised us with a fun twirl of Olivia around the dance floor – you may think a flowy dress is great for portraits, but check out how it looks in a twirl! I love it!
Jaret and Olivia, CONGRATULATIONS! We are so excited for you!
