Hello to the lovely brides and grooms-to-be! Planning your wedding is such an exciting time, and hopefully you’ve happened upon this blog because you’re searching for a venue (or photographer). If you’re considering tying the knot in the charming and lovely town of Williamsburg, Virginia, there are so many great venues! The Maine is one of the newest in town, and I was blessed to photograph a few events and a wedding there this year. I’d love to share a little about The Maine wedding venue to help you plan!

The Maine is a true hidden gem in Williamsburg, VA – right off my favorite Capital Trail for biking, you would never expect to find a wedding venue down the lane. From the moment you drive up, you will love the stone on the building and the privacy in the midst of some of my favorite Williamsburg neighborhoods. The Maine provides an intimate setting for your wedding, accommodating both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions.

As a photographer, of course a lot of my focus is going to be on capturing every precious moment of your wedding day. So, let’s talk a little about photography! The Maine has lots of outdoor space as well as covered porches in case of rain. This is great for family formals and portraits as a couple. I also love the versatility of the Maine as a wedding venue – you can take photos that look more rustic or modern depending on which parts of the venue you use as your backdrop. Of course, I always tend to favor the beautiful outdoors as my favorite backdrop of all!

Williamsburg seriously has some golden hour magic, and the Maine has a great location to maximize that as well. With your reception being right next to the back porch area, we can run out quickly at sunset to catch some final portraits of your day that you will truly cherish forever. That soft dreamy light in the evening combined with the Maine wedding venue as your backdrop = magical!

While I am biased to photography being one of the priorities of the wedding day, I know that there are other priorities on your checklist. One of the main ones is most likely looking for a vendor team that will understand the importance of a relaxed and stress-free day.
