There’s something magical about springtime Colonial Williamsburg engagement photos. The gardens burst into color, the trees are green with new life, and if you time it just right—you catch that dreamy golden hour glow that makes everything feel a little extra romantic.
Stephanie and Andrew definitely timed it just right.

From the moment we met up for their engagement session, these two were all smiles and fun to get to know. They chose spring for their photos, and it couldn’t have been more perfect—the florals were in full bloom, the air had that warm-but-still-fresh feel, and the golden hour light showed up like it knew we had something special planned.
If you’re dreaming of Colonial Williamsburg engagement photos, let me tell you—spring is the season for it. Between the historic charm and the vibrant gardens, it’s like stepping into a storybook (with better lighting!).
We wandered through the cobblestone streets and garden paths, stopping here and there to soak in the scenery (and sneak in a few kisses, of course). Stephanie looked stunning in her colorful spring dress, and Andrew’s laid-back charm made the whole session feel effortless. It was clear that they just get each other—and that made my job ridiculously easy.

What I loved most? The way they made each other laugh. Nothing posed or forced—just two people being themselves, wrapped up in the excitement of what’s ahead.
Scroll down to see some of my favorite moments from their session. The blooms, the light, the love—it all came together in the best way. Stephanie and Andrew, thank you for trusting me to capture your joy. I cannot wait for your wedding day. If this session was any hint, it’s going to be beautiful in every way.
Until then—keep soaking in the golden light. 💛
xo,
Mattie
