What a beautiful day for a September wedding! I absolutely loved serving as Madeleine and Marshall’s Richmond, VA wedding photographer. Madeleine and Marshall met in high school in Richmond, VA and both attended college at William and Mary where they started dating. On their 6 year dating anniversary, they duplicated a dinner at Can Can and the garden glow at Maymont during Covid for a private engagement during Covid.
They chose to wed at St. Bridget Catholic Church (Madeleine’s church she grew up attending) with a reception at the Fairfield Estate. Planned by Shelby Lynn Events, every detail was in place and the weather ended up being perfect. They rented an RVA Trolley which made the transportation between the church and the estate so much fun! As a Richmond, VA wedding photographer, I find so many unique things about Richmond – trolleys are definitely one of them!
Madeleine and Marshall planned a fun backyard wedding reception behind the estate with a beautiful white tent and food stations by Mosaic Catering. There were such fun representations of them throughout the decor – they even used Marshall’s old truck to hold drinks (it was FILLED with ice!). The white florals, greenery and slate blue colors popped against the green landscape. I loved that the Fairfield Estate had a second floor balcony to add a little fun to the bouquet toss.
After dinner, guests enjoyed delicious wedding cake from Westhampton Bakery and a special visit from Gelati Celesti (yum!). Everyone celebrated and danced the night away with live music from Sam Hill entertainment. With so many amazing vendors and so much fun planned, what stood out most to me was the LOVE their friends and family had for them. It was like being at a reunion and a wedding all in one – with so much laughter, hugs, and conversations.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! <3
