Katelin and Jeremy are SO special to us – I was excited for a quick family mini session by the James River for them while they were visiting us in Williamsburg. One of my favorite things about being a photographer is being welcomed into some of the most intimate and personal moments. It is such an honor to capture these moments, and this time was definitely one of them. Katelin and Jeremy wanted to use their mini session to announce that they are expecting a new BABY!

If you’ve ever taken photos of a toddler, you know that it takes a lot of skill AND patience to keep them excited and interested in taking photos (sometimes, there’s luck mixed in there too!). We decided to go with an evening session to catch that golden hour glow, so we knew we were facing the possibility that Emma would not last long (especially since she missed her nap to come and visit us!).

We started with a few photos in my front yard in outfit number one to complement shirts Katelin and Jeremy had purchased. They were sooo cute! After a quick outfit change, we hopped in the car and finished our family mini session by the James River. It truly was a beautiful night, and the weather was perfect!
