A Meaningful Ceremony at Grace Chapel Presbyterian
Grace Covenant Presbyterian provided a picturesque setting for Jeannine and Sam’s church wedding. This was my first time inside, and the lighting is PERFECT for a church wedding in Williamsburg, VA. Jeannine looked radiant in her gown as she walked down the aisle, accompanied by the music that filled the chapel. As William and Mary alumni (who were very musically gifted!), a special part of their wedding day included performances by the William and Mary Christopher Wren Singers. A cappella is already so beautiful, but in a church with great acoustics – WOW!
Celtic-Inspired Details
What set Jeannine and Sam’s wedding apart were the thoughtful nods to their Irish heritage and love for all things Ireland. Their wedding rings were adorned with intricate Celtic knots, symbolizing their eternal bond. Sam sported custom-made Celtic knot cufflinks along with his groomsmen, a stylish touch that echoed their shared cultural connection. Jeannine also incorporated a penny and sixpence in her shoes, a tradition believed to bring good luck and prosperity in Irish weddings. Jeannine’s sister did all of the embroidery on the train of her wedding dress – there is even Sam’s name hidden in the design. The couple will be headed to Ireland for their honeymoon as well!
Celebrating at DoubleTree by Hilton Williamsburg
After the ceremony, the celebration continued at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Williamsburg, VA. The reception venue provided a blend of elegance and comfort, where guests enjoyed delicious food, heartfelt speeches, and dancing in honor of the newlyweds. The atmosphere was lively and filled with love, reflecting Jeannine and Sam’s joyous union. I have to admit that we had the best strategy to get the dance floor going – we called all of the couple’s college friends to the dance floor for a group picture, and then the DJ started the music right as we finished the portrait. The floor erupted in some of the most fun dance moves!
