Over the years, I have not done as many mini sessions as my schedule is often fully booked by full family sessions, seniors and weddings. While most of my photo sessions are held outdoors (with the exception of wedding receptions and indoor events), I thought it would be fun to try something a little different this year for Christmas mini sessions in Williamsburg, VA. 🙂
I had been eying an egg chair that I saw online and wanted to try at least one set up with a decorated egg chair (maybe it’s just me, but I think they’re so cute!). I had also seen multiple RAVING reviews about indoor backdrops from Kate, so I knew I wanted to try a set up with one of those as well! The house where I grew up has a huge magnolia tree, so I got some of those as well as picked our holly bush in our front yard.
I put together two set ups that were classic holiday/winter. We have not seen snow at Christmas in a WHILE here in Virginia, so maybe I should have chosen a green backdrop to be realistic, lol; however, nothing says Christmas like snowy trees and a fun Christmas lantern! The kids always interact so well with holiday scenery and enjoy sitting on my photo boxes that are still going strong (I stained these myself a few years ago and have gotten so much use out of them).
It was SO fun to try some indoor photography, especially during the cool December weeks we’ve been having. The kiddos loved the big chair and swinging their legs. We had multiple families enjoy the set up and look forward to trying Christmas mini sessions in Williamsburg, VA again in the future!
