🌸 My Favorite Time of Year Behind the Lens
Hey there! I’m so glad you’ve landed here to check out spring family photos — whether you’re planning your first family photo session or just browsing for spring inspiration, welcome!
I’m a Williamsburg-based family and wedding photographer, and I’ve been lucky enough to call this beautiful town home for over a decade. Before that? I spent four unforgettable years at William & Mary, soaking in all the history, charm, and yes — late nights at Wawa that come with college life here, lol.
But Williamsburg didn’t let me go — and I’m so thankful for that.
After graduating, I lived in the Philippines for a few years, and then I moved just a few cobblestone streets away from William & Mary and actually lived a few steps from Colonial Williamsburg for a bit (yes, the real deal — walking down the street and hearing the clip-clop of horses, or at least walking near their… yeah!). Now, with over 10 years of photography experience in this area, I’ve found so many hidden little gems that make spring photo sessions here truly magical.
Why Spring is Pure Magic for Family Photos
The gardens start to bloom, the light gets golden and dreamy, and everything feels fresh and full of possibility. It’s my absolute favorite time of year to photograph families.
Whether it’s your kiddo’s first time seeing tulips pop up along Duke of Gloucester Street or your annual family tradition, there’s something timeless about spring in Williamsburg. Combine that with the fact that we’ve all been cooped up for the cold winter, why not plan spring family photos?!

📍 My Favorite Springtime Photo Spots in Colonial Williamsburg
Because I’ve lived and worked here for so long, I know how to time our sessions to catch the best light and avoid the crowds. As you’re planning your session, we can incorporate places like:
- Tucked-away gardens behind various fences and houses in CW
- Dreamy white fences where the sunset hits just right
- Off-the-path brick walkways that feel like a scene from history
- Bassett Hall and the gardens/trails nearby
I’ll always guide you during the session, so you never have to worry about where to stand or what to do with your hands — we’ll laugh, explore, and chase some giggles if the kids are feeling extra wiggly.
What to Wear for Spring Photos
I always suggest solid, neutral colors with a pop of something fresh — think light blues, creams, blush, sage, or dusty rose. These tones pair beautifully with the natural greens and florals that Williamsburg shows off in spring.
Don’t stress too much about matching perfectly — coordinated but not identical is the sweet spot!
Let’s Make Some Memories
More than anything, I want your session to feel relaxed and real. We’ll take those classic smiling-at-the-camera shots, of course — but I live for the in-between moments. The cuddles. The toddler belly laughs. The smiling hand-holding walks down cobblestone paths.
If that sounds like your kind of session, I’d be honored to capture it for you.
Let’s celebrate spring, family, and this beautiful town we get to call home.
